Every session is held online through Discord. Your child joins a private voice and video channel with their mentor, shares their screen or a digital whiteboard, and works through the material live. We are online-only, so there is no travel time for anyone and your child can be tutored from wherever they study best.
Yes, without exception. Every Top Mark tutor is on camera for the full session. It keeps your child engaged, lets the mentor read confusion on their face rather than waiting to be told, and means you can see exactly who your child is working with at any moment. A tutor who will not turn their camera on does not work here.
A free Discord account, a device with a microphone, and a stable internet connection. Nothing needs to be purchased. We send you a step-by-step setup guide with your invite link after your consultation, and a mentor walks your child through it before the first paid session so no lesson time is lost to setup.
We tutor STEM subjects only, for students in Grades 6 through 12: mathematics through calculus, chemistry, physics, biology, computer science, and the quantitative sections of standardized tests. That focus is deliberate. A tutor who claims to cover every subject from English essays to organic chemistry is stretched too thin to be excellent at any of them, so we do not take on humanities subjects or elementary students.
Every mentor passes a strict multi-stage vetting process: verified academic credentials, a background check, a subject mastery evaluation, and a live teaching demonstration. Our roster is made up of certified educators and STEM graduates from top universities who specialize in the exact courses they teach, and we hold them to a written standard of conduct for every session.
After every single lesson you receive a post-session accountability log covering what was taught, how your child performed, and the plan for next time. At program milestones you receive a consolidated progress report benchmarking improvement against the original diagnostic.
